Community Outreach- Pathfinder Ranger

25 January 2016

According to the curriculum, Rangers are expected to participate in 2 types of community outreach programs as well as participate in a church project.

As such, you can arrange for the Ranger class to also have a hands-on activity such as the Explorers, as well as have an arranged program with organizations such as orphanages, children’s homes, read for the elderly in Old-Age homes etc. for their third activity, you can arrange with the Dorcas department or Adventist Men department to find out where Pathfinder Rangers can assist.

There are many areas where the Ranger can assist at church such as cleaning the church in preparation for Sabbath and plucking out weed from the church garden or any activity wherever possible. This will assist the Ranger to understand that the church needs to be well maintained and as such, they should not even start with throwing papers on church grounds or making the church messy in any way. They will learn to take responsibility.

At this stage, Rangers need to be supervised (especially when cleaning the church) because the church is a Holy Place and thus the head deaconess needs to be available to direct and indicate how the cleaning of the church should be done
