Growing up in Pathfinder years

2 January 2016

Growing up, I was deprived from full involvement in the Pathfinder Ministry due to the distance between where we lived and where the Pathfinder club gatherings were held.

I grew to admire other clubs on conference arranged Pathfinder events as they were part of clubs with active Pathfinders. I admired the skills portrayed by other Pathfinders on activities such as knot-tying, camping, drilling and marching and I always wished to someday be part of an active Pathfinder program.

I soon realized that when you pray, God answers! :)
He either can answer 'Yes', 'No' or 'Wait'...
It was only post my Pathfinder years when I realized that God had indeed answered my prayer and had said 'Wait'!..

I don't have solid Pathfinder memory, but I became a Pathfinder Director and have led a club to their first Fair, their first Investiture and at the end of my term as Pathfinder Director, 5 of my Pathfinders were baptised.

The privilege of being appointed as Pathfinder Director had moments of both extreme happiness and extreme frustration and yet it was in this term of leadership that I finally discovered my passion in Pathfinder.

I thus will be sharing this passion with anybody out there who is willing to receive it...
