Who can be a Pathfinder

3 January 2016

The rule of thumb states that 10 year old's and/or those in grade 5 or its equivalent are eligible to participate in the Pathfinder program till the age of 15 years.
9 year old's can enter in the semester wherein their birthday falls (example: if a 9 year old's birthday is from January till June, then they can start with the Pathfinder program from the beginning of the year. If a 9 year old's birthday is from July till December, then they start in July with the Pathfinder program).

You will find, however, that there are situations where this rule is waived. There are various examples and considering their uniqueness, it becomes helpful to note that each case can be treated uniquely.

It is thus the reason why Pathfinders have to Register for their participation at the beginning of every year. The committee sits and decides on every registration and those deemed fit to participate as Pathfinders are announced and formally acknowledged at an Induction Ceremony.

It is also the case when 16 year old's wish to still remain as Pathfinders, the committee sits and decides

The Pathfinder program is not exclusive to just children from the Seventh Day Adventist Denomination. Active Pathfinders can invite their friends to be part of the program of Pathfinders. The important criteria is that of age. If children are allowed to start the Pathfinder program while younger than the required age group, it will create challenges to their social growth as they may find that the activities are too hard for them to accomplish.

It is thus recommended that all the levels within the Youth Ministry Curriculum are followed. It is recommended that children start as Adventurers before entering into the Pathfinder program.

To new Pathfinders of 2016, I say Welcome:
