Serving Others- Pathfinder Companion

23 January 2016

Companion class members may respond better to the idea of community outreach as some of them may have done community outreach while in their Friend Class.

I recommend you also arrange community outreach for the Companion class and that they should do such outreach as an entire class and with youngsters like they are. You possibly can arrange at the same place as the Friend class but where possible, try to separate the two classes for maximum participation. If you mix the Friend and Companion in all activities, you will note that the Friend class tends to be withdrawal and the Companion class tends to be dominating. Rather separate the two groups.

The trick with arranging community outreach with organizations is that you must be fully prepared and you must keep to time. If you requested a 2hour slot, then you must arrive on time and ensure that the activities you have planned will utilize the entire slot, nothing more, nothing less.
It would be nice if you can arrange little tokens of memory to be given to the people of that organization. Things like food parcels or hand-made cards with bible messages will make an even greater impact.

Be prepared! Keep time and have fun!
