Fortunately the Bible
distinguishes between the Gifts of the Spirit and the Fruits of the Spirit. The
gifts of the Spirit are explained in 1 Cor. 12:8-11 and the fruits are
explained in Gal. 5:22.
The gifts of the Spirit are like
talents in that not everybody will have them. For example, some people are
blessed with the gift of healing, others have faith, others can pray and others
can preach and others can prophecy and a such are gifts which people receive as
a receive as a result of accepting the Spirit of God.
Fruits of the Spirit on the other
hand are personality traits which are evident of the presence of the Holy
Spirit in one’s life. Accepting Christ as your personal Savior and receiving of
the Holy Spirit’s teaching and guidance will have an effect upon your life. The
Holy Spirit sanctifies you to be ‘more like Christ’ and being ‘more like
Christ’ means you will Love, be Faithful, be Gentle, be Kind, have Self-Control
and portray all the fruits of the Spirit.
The sanctuary services point to
the cross through the following descriptions: Justification occurs in the
courtyard and it symbolizes how Jesus Christ takes our sins and we appear
sinless before God through His imputed righteousness. Sanctification is then
the process of us being transformed daily to be like Jesus Christ.
Glorification occurs in the in the Most Holy Place and is the ultimate reward
we shall receive upon Christ’s 2nd Coming, when we shall be
transformed into His glory.
This message is a message of
hope.
