Do as I say and not as I do!...

8 January 2016

If this is your motto in life and you are a Pathfinder Director or Teacher, then its simple- you Need Training!
You can make a speech as brilliant and remarkable as that Martin Luther King Junior or as that of Nelson Mandela, but that speech means Nothing if your Actions speak otherwise. If you declare class time to be at 2pm and you arrive 10minutes later, then you might as well forget about ever getting Pathfinders to arrive on time. In fact, they will be 30 minutes late!
You expect your Pathfinders to always be on time, always carry the Progressive class books, always do their homework, not chew gum during gatherings and to always respect you. I tell you now, if fall short of ANY such expectations yourself, then you might as well kiss success with Pathfinder discipline goodbye.
Pathfinders will talk back and tell you that you do these things yourself. So you need to have a self-introspection and self-improvement before you even begin pursuing discipline with Pathfinders.

Pathfinders have minds of their own and when dealing with Pathfinders you get to realize that there are ‘many ways to kill a cat’. Learn with them and don’t be afraid to admit when you are in the wrong, everybody makes mistakes and in fact, mistakes are part of the process of learning. So do appreciate a Pathfinder who shares something you didn’t know, this doesn’t mean you are weak but that you are also human and Pathfinders will relate to you better as a human
