One of the reasons Pathfinder is
such a passion of mine is due to fact that the Pathfinder age-group falls in
the tender stages of Adolescence. At this stage, teenagers are still ‘finding
themselves’. So many changes happen in their bodies and in their minds are
wavering between what is right and wrong. It is at this phase of teenage life
where teenagers make life decisions- such as Baptism
I was baptized at age 13 at a
Seventh Day Adventist School, Bethel College High. I was boarded on campus and
my parents were an overnight bus drive away. They were not present on my
baptismal, in fact, they received news of my baptismal when I showed them
pictures a month later. Come to think of it, not even I knew that I was going
to get baptized on the day in which I did. I made that decision on the spot and
the urge was provoked by the sermon rendered. That was a big decision to make
and I made it at age 13.
I thus feel that the minds of
youth can be best influenced in their Pathfinder years. I thus dedicate myself
to such an influence so that someday, some Pathfinder’s life may be impacted
positively due to my passionate contribution to Pathfinder.
At the end of my term as
Pathfinder Director, I was blessed beyond words when 5 of my Pathfinders were
baptized.
