Tools for the trade- Director- Part 2

•  As a Pathfinder Director, you must not shy away from speaking up in front of the church. Delegate everything else but when it comes to making crucial announcements, insist on stepping up and making such announcements yourself. The tool to possess is thus that of Confidence and Self Esteem.                                                                                                          I feel I can’t stress enough that as Director, you are dealing with sensitive hearts and minds and they look up to you. They rely on you to represent them Anywhere and Everywhere! They rely on you having a backbone when it comes to Any and Every issue which you have said you will do. As a Pathfinder Director, you need to be a person of your word. A ‘No’ to one should be a ‘No’ to all and if you said ‘Yes it will happen’, you need to do everything in your power to make sure that it does happen.

•  Last but definitely not least, you need to have Emotional Intelligence. Pathfinders are kids and they will drive you up the wall if you let them and a method of screaming and shouting and making threats should Never even cross your mind! Such a method will only frustrate you and will enable the Pathfinders to practically trample all over you!                                                     As a Pathfinder Director, you are to separate your personal emotions from the Pathfinders. They will study you to see your weakness and if they spot that weakness, they will use it to your disadvantage and their advantage.                                                                                         Take the time to know yourself and never expose your weaknesses to Pathfinders
